What
is interesting about Terengganu? What is on in Terengganu? Now let’s open eyes
widely and discovered what is on in Terengganu. We already know Kenyir Lake
located in Terengganu and it is the largest man-made lake in South East Asia.
Besides, Terengganu have cave name Gua Taat where we are not expected there
have a unique place like that. So we choose Kenyir Lake and Gua taat as
representative flora and fauna in Terengganu!!
Tasik Kenyir (Kenyir Lake)
Tasik Kenyir (Kenyir Lake) is also the largest man-made lake in
South-east Asia. It was created by the building of the Sultan Mahmud Dam and
the drowning of forests to fill it. You can take a fun cruise in the lake.
There have a lot of activities such as Kayaking, canoeing, boating and
water-rafting at rapids are also
available there. In fact there is an annual Kenyir Regatta for boat enthusiasts and water lovers. The areas around Lake Kenyir have many
waterfalls and you can swim. Toman, baung, kelah, sebarau, lampan sungai,
parang, kawan, terbul and many other species of Malaysian fishes abound in the
waters and the rivers, making it one of the most popular angling spots in Malaysia. Visit the Herbal Park is believed
that the Lake Kenyir area is home to more than 8,000 species of flowers, 2,500
species of plants and trees, 800 species of orchids, and 300 species of fungus.
Gua Taat
Taat Cave
is the name of stalactites and stalagmites cave situated in the area of Kenyir
Lake. It gets the name of Taat due to loyal villagers for their
leader. (Taat means someone who is very loyal, obedient and respect for
somebody). . Visitor is advised to bring along touch light to explore the
spectacular sights of Mother Nature scene. This cave will merge underwater if
the water level is high. Both of the cave walls are lined with spectacular
white limestone creatively engraved by nature. This cave has some of the most
impressive and fascinating stalactites and stalagmites in Terengganu. Its’
attractive as quality marble. They come in all forms, shapes and sizes.
